Strong winds and heavy seas see racing suspended in Naples; Sunday’s racing will determine Fleet and Match Racing Champions
Heavy seas pounding into the breakwaters along the Naples sea front on Saturday morning, along with a forecast for winds that could exceed 30 knots, meant racing was suspended on Saturday.The match race semi finals and finals will now be sailed on Sunday. ORACLE Racing Spithill goes 2-2 in daily fleet racing
ORACLE Racing Spithill rebounded from yesterday’s uneven showing by placing 2-2 in today’s two fleet races at the ACWS Naples.The two seconds achieved in patchy wind conditions helped ORACLE Racing Spithill to almost halve the deficit it faced at the end of yesterday. The Spithill crew holds second, 5 points behind Emirates Team New Zealand (Dean Barker) with six of nine scheduled fleet races completed. »

China Team for the America’s Cup announces crew training in Sanya and competing in Naples World Series
This announcement is being sent on behalf of China Team
China Team, the exclusive Chinese challenger for the America’s Cup 34 Sailing regatta to take place in San Francisco in the summer of 2013, is thrilled to announce that the crew to compete at the Naples AC World Series (April 7-15, 2012) is ready and have all arrived at the Serenity Marina in Sanya, the China Team base, to start training for the upcoming competition. Among the eight crew members, two skippers will be training on the recently acquired Ventilo M2 catamarans for the exclusive position of China Team skipper in Sanya. »
